Produce Show 2010
In the loacl produce show, I entered into 5 classes. I got first in the heaviest potato class (855g), Second in the lettuce class (There was only two entries!), and second in the Vegetable Disaster class – A wierd tiny cucumber with a bit of a tail, which had been nibbled by a slug. I din’t get anything for ‘Four white potatoes’, but I’m not surprised as they were mismathced in size and texture, but they were the only ones without holes in them…My peas didn’t win either, but they were past their best, and I has a struggle to find 4 to enter.
My children both won in the Junior Child heaviest potato class. One got first, and the other got third. So not a bad prize haul overall. The children are given a bucket and a seed potato, so all entries stand the same chance.
