Looks like the end of an Era

Sorry to report that I am probably going to let go of my Allotment. I have taken a new job which will mean moving away from Eastbourne.
It’s quite a shame as we waited 4 years to get an allotment, we spent quite a lot of time and effort in getting the plot in shape for our uses and now we are having to let it go.

I have all of my seeds from the recent post out – so I am going to give them to a friend that has just been given an allotment.

I may post a few more things here – but I think it is actually the end of the allotment blog – once I move house I will come back with news about my new garden – or next allotment.

Sorry to hear that you will have to give up your allotment with the time and effort you’ve put into it, at least the new owners won’t have that much to do because you have done it all. You can still pop by and check on how everyone is doing on vegblogs, maybe tell the new owners if you see them to carry on with the blog just a thought. Good luck in your new job hopefully you maybe able to get a new plot in the part of the country your moving to.

It may be the end of an era, but it needn’t be the end of your allotmenteering. I am now working of my fourth allotment since 1979. Each on has been different, with different rewards and different challenges; it keeps growing things interesting.

Thanks for your comments. I will keep this blog updated with news – and may be posting images of wild mushrooms in the meantime.

Would love to see your fungi. It has been a strange fungi autumn here in North Buckinghamshire. A few fairy ring champignons and parasols early on and then blank for weeks. Now I am picking field and wood blewits as I would expect, but also early autumn species such as field mushrooms and Lawyer’s wigs

That really is a shame, I have loved reading your entries & had some great ideas.

Alas. I will continue on the plot for another year at least. I have decided not to move but commute instead.so the blog will continue too. Thankyou for your kind words.
