Potatoes
I got a parcel delivered today which was my potatoes for this seasons growing,I got Vanessa which were my first early and Estima which were second early’s I got them from www.jbaseedpotatoes.co.uk

Hello again Steve, I’m interested in your link to the JBA seed potato site. Have you bought seed pots from them before? Their site, packaging and prices all look good but are their seeds as good. We bought our seed pots rather late last year and could only get what was available in the local shops. We ended up buying the from Wilkinsons, dont know if you have heard of them in your neck of the woods. They were ok but we were not too sure of their pedigree. So we would be very interested in your feedback on JBA.
We have pruchased seed pots this year already from Thopmson and Morgan and they have arrived and are busy chitting themselves at the moment, but to be absolutley honest we were not entirely happy with them, there were quite a lot of small ones to my mind and a few of them had mould on them. I appreciate the crop is probably not dependant on the seed but yours look a much better size and since the tuber is the food store for the start of life I guess they must be better if they are slightly larger.

Hi Peter it’s the first time I have used them I had a look around on the net and it looked a decent company, I used Sutton’s seeds last year and they were quite expensive and the wife didn’t like them. The spuds i got from Sutton’s were £8 which are twice as much as the rest,I also used wilkinson as well I found them ok and cheap.
All the family seem to eat are mash or baked potatoes so that narrowed it down a bit, the Vanessa spuds I’ve never tried but the Estima are the ones we eat from Asda (That’s what they get in so should be safe to eat).
I was new to it last year and didn’t know any better and bought all my seeds from Sutton’s,I did win some seeds from http://www.vegatableseeds.net and never looked back since.Ive told a few people on the allotment about doing a blog and having a chance to win some seeds,even if they don’t win the seeds are so cheap you can’t go wrong.
