It’s turning cold and we had a good hard frost last night. “Good” because we need a cold spell to deal with an ongoing infestation of whitefly on our broccoli and kale plants. We garden without the use of chemicals as far as we can so insecticide is not an option. Whitefly can be washed off veg but it’s a nuisance. We’ve fleeced the olive tree, just in case it gets very cold, the forecast is for a chilly week:

Looking forwards – early sown sweet peas are in compost, in yogurt pots – apparently yogurt pots are a land fill problem as they are not yet recyclable. Using them as seedling plant pots means that they at least get reused once:

The green trays are also recycled – supermarket mushroom punnets.

    I’ve just been to our allotment after the little frost we had, by the time I got to the allotment it was raining and very muddy. Good use of the yog pots I also use them and Chinese take away tubs.
