Sharing my vegetable garden experiences

Things are starting to come together

With the days getting longer I have been able to put the odd hour in after work recently. The small plot I have at the end of the garden is starting to come together. The ‘Square Foot’ plot is ready to be used (The composition is 1 third Compost, Peat Moss and Vermiculite), the “fly away” (as Grandad put it) greenhouse is weighted down and tucked in the corner away from direct wind.

My 18 sq ft plot

I have plucked off the old leaves to conserve energy. Do I feed them? There is a lot in a small space.

I have most weekend and holidays free, so decided to take up vegetable growing last summer. I teach and I am currently setting plans afoot to start a Gardening Club at my school in Spring.

  1. I’ll be interested to see how the sq ft garden goes, I’ve been reading a lot about them…
